Field Operations Engineer | Midwestern US

Airwavz Solutions is an industry leading wireless infrastructure company that designs, develops, and delivers customized wireless infrastructure platforms as a service for building owners, service providers and enterprise customers to flexibly and economically solve the coverage and capacity challenge created by the explosion of mobile device use indoors. We are seeking a field operations engineering professional to join our fast-paced team and support the aggressive growth of Airwavz Solutions’ products and services in the healthcare and commercial real estate space.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for supporting, monitoring, and maintaining in-building wireless networks and managing all aspects of operations across client facilities. Performs venue specific site assessments, evaluation of existing infrastructure and managing client and vendor relations.

RESPONSIBILITITES OF THE POSITION

  • Represent Airwavz on customer appointments as the subject matter expert for hosted in-building wireless technologies and applications
  • Provide proactive network and site monitoring and maintenance to help ensure uninterrupted operational functioning of custom installed wireless systems
  • Addressing system malfunctions, the Field Operations Engineer uses knowledge and skills to trouble shoot and perform site problem assessments
  • Project manage operational site modifications and upgrades
  • Though part of a cohesive and supportive team, the Field Operations Engineer largely operates independently in a complex environment
  • Maintains excellent client relations and identifies opportunities to strengthen customer satisfaction
  • Performs other related duties as required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of direct wireless telecommunications or RF technologies experience is required
  • Possesses a valid US driver’s license
  • Military communications experience is strongly desired
  • Multi-state travel across the assigned territory is required (35%)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess and demonstrate excellent customer service skills
  • Must be a self-starter and avid learner
  • Demonstrates a moderate level of proficiency with Internet and Microsoft Office applications to include, but not limited to: Word and Excel is required
  • Must be analytical and adept at executing problem-solving solutions quickly
  • Must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Must be able to prioritize and re-prioritize as needed in a fast-paced working environment, especially when dealing with time sensitive issues and mandated deadlines
  • Driven to ensure customer satisfaction by applying strong interpersonal skills which are critical for successfully interacting with customers, management, and team members
  • Must be comfortable meeting assigned task with minimum direct supervision
  • Must be comfortable taking full responsibility for operations of assigned sites

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Periods sitting at a desk and working on a personal computer
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle over longer distances
  • Airline and automobile travel required within business footprint
  • Ability to visit building worksites and inspect the premises which require walking, standing and on occasion climbing a ladder (<10 feet)
  • Minimal lifting (up to 25lbs.) may be required on occasion
  • COVID 19: Vaccination is not required however all employees must comply with applicable business, regional and national ordinances pertaining to assigned work site locations.

Full benefits package available (see website for details). Candidates must live in the Midwestern section of the US near major metro areas and transportation hubs (e.g. St Louis, Kansas City, Indianapolis, Memphis, Little Rock, etc). Relocation is not available on this position.
